The syllabus is divided into 3 units. Each of the first two units is further divided into a number of elements.
Unit IGC 1 - Management of international Health & Safety:

· Organising for health and safety
· Promoting a positive health and safety culture
· Risk assessment
· Principles of control
· Monitoring review and audit
· Incident and accident investigation and reporting
Unit ICC 1 – Managing and controlling hazards in international construction activities:
· Construction management
· Construction activities hazards and control
· Movement of people and vehicles – hazards and control
· Manual and mechanical handling – hazards and control
· Work equipment – hazards and control
· Electrical hazards and control
· Fire hazards and control
· Chemical and biological health hazards and control
· Physical and psychological health hazards and control
· Working at height – hazards and control
· Excavation work and confined spaces – hazards and control
· Demolition hazards and control
Course Assessment:
· Part A consists of two examination papers A1 – Management of international Health & Safety, A2 – Managing and controlling hazards in international construction activities
· Part B is a practical assessment carrying out a workplace inspection. On completion of this candidates have to prepare a report detailing the findings and persuasively urge management to take appropriate action.
